STILL NEHEMIAH

Decades after breaking the thirteen-second barrier, Renaldo Nehemiah reveals how an Olympic disappointment, an unexpected NFL career and a fight for athletes’ eligibility shaped the experience others now turn to.

The man
behind the time.

His records establish his credibility. What he did when opportunity disappeared reveals the experience people still turn to.

Set in Maryland, the film connects his world-record rise, the Olympic boycott, professional football and the eligibility fight widely referred to as the Nehemiah Rule with the perspective he brings to athletes today.

The achievement

12.93 seconds. A first that lasts.

The first man to run the 110-metre hurdles in under thirteen seconds.

The interruption

One path closes. Another begins.

The 1980 boycott denied his Olympic moment. Professional football became an unexpected next starting line.

The turning point

A rule bigger than one career.

When the NFL cost him his track eligibility, the fight that followed helped open a new path for athletes competing professionally in another sport.
